Post 14 : Setting Practice

The floor is carpeted with grey striped squares. The stripes switch orientation like a checkerboard. They aren’t grey, they are a mix of colors that creates a beige-gray. Green and blue and brown and beige and gray. But upon a glance one would say gray.

There’s an air conditioner, or a radiator. There’s something boxy and mechanical attached to the wall and it hums loudly.

The walls are painted copper. No, two walls are. Two walls are painted copper, one of which has a white fixture attached. All the windows are on the copper walls and they are silver but the ledges are white, or cream. They look white alone, or when compared to the copper walls, but they aren’t white when compared to the silver windows (of which there are 5). The curtains are a dark grey, they aren’t cotton, they look to be a canvas material. There isn’t anything else on these walls. The boxy mechanical attachment is connected to the copper wall across from the door.

The other two walls are white, actual white, though slightly yellowed with age. They are brick, the copper walls are smooth, although on the brick walls there are two protrusions that are painted a smooth white. The door is one the wall that both protrusions are on. They are thick, they could hide a relatively well built person behind them. The door has a small window, so only a very short person could hide behind it effectively. Unless one were pressed into the space beside the door, because the window is taller than it is wide and you cannot see much into the room from it. The other white brick wall is barren.

There are a few tables that could present a difficulty when moving around, but they are lightweight and not attached to the floor.

The ceiling tiles are easily misplaced and there is ample lighting. The lightswitch is beside the door, in total there are 12 fluorescent lights in this space.

This room would present difficulties with cleaning given the white walls and carpeted floors Additionally visibility is a high risk and suspicion may be drawn if all the window shades are. Recommendation: Avoid unless needed. Additional reports to follow.

What did you think? I wanted to practice describing places and I just had to go into my local university for a test, so I figured I’d describe the room I took my test in! Even though I do school online, my professor prefers I take tests in places that can be proctored, which kinda sucks when I’m not feeling well, but most of them are nice and let me take the test when I’m not feeling like hell boiled over haha. I don’t know how much I like what I wrote though, especially the ending. Maybe I need more practice haha. Ok, well, hope you’re having a nice day! Oh! And just in case you were worried my friend messaged me back, she’s a-ok but her family isn’t doing as hot. So, I’ll be sending her some love, and I hope you guys will do the same! Ok bye for reals!
